I’m Dan Tessitore, ISSA-certified personal trainer, strength coach, and creator of Not Rocket Science, the newsletter for ordinary people who want to become less fat and more fit in the simplest, most efficient way possible. Read my story here.
I specialize in strength and fitness for adults with lives outside the gym and train clients at Crossroads Sports & Fitness in Helena, Montana. I also do online coaching for remote clients, those who prefer to work out at home, or are on a budget (let’s be honest – personal training is kind of spendy).
In addition to personal training, online coaching and the Not Rocket Science Newsletter, I’ve written a few eBooks and short guides. You can grab those here absolutely free.
Over 40 and overweight? One of these things can be fixed!
A high-intensity training approach to getting stronger in less time.
You only need three things to be stronger and healthier. Here they are.
In survey after survey, it’s been shown that the #1 reason people hire personal trainers is not the instruction, encouragement, or even the results – it’s (drumroll please) accountability. In other words, most people hire trainers because if they didn’t, they wouldn’t go to the gym at all.
But can you get accountability, and those other goodies, through online coaching? Absolutely! In fact, if you already have the self-motivation to show up, you can can get all that and then some.

With one-on-one training, your trainer has a clipboard with your workout logs that you only see once in a while when gauging progress (if you can read a trainer’s chicken-scratch).
Via my app, you have 24/7 access to both written instructions and video demonstrations of your exercises as well as access to me outside of gym sessions. All of your workouts are recorded so that both you and I can see past performance, progress, and areas that need improvement – all at a glance.
And with online coaching, strict scheduling isn’t necessary. No more canceled, missed, or lost sessions costing you time and money.
Whether it’s in-person or virtual, knowing that your coach is monitoring your progress and wants you to succeed goes a long way toward keeping you motivated and accountable.
After all, the real work in losing fat and building muscle – literally, the “heavy lifting” – is done by you. I’ll provide the instruction, feedback, support, and – above all – the accountability you need to get the results you want.
Losing fat, building muscle, and getting healthier is much simpler than many in the fitness industry would like you to think. Change takes effort, but working out doesn’t require a Ph.D., and every meal shouldn’t be math homework.
